From Apparel stores to Yachts, Andrea Pinto Makes Architecture Cool
Meet Andrea Pinto, founder and CEO of the Guatemalan architecture firm, Garaki. She’s only 25 and already killing the game. So, how does someone so young already run and own a highly successful architecture firm? Experience… lots of it.
Andrea went to college for architecture, but that’s just the rocket’s wick that ignited her wealth of experience. While in school she studied abroad in Dubai, London, Russia, and Chile. She started working at a young age for important firms like Darcón and Paz Architecture. Andrea even had the great challenge of building 7 stores in less than three months her senior year. No easy task, but this is what ultimately paved the way for her unique firm.
After graduating, she was prepared to change the face of commercial architecture. Cue the birth of Garaki. Garaki is an African word that means workshop, which is exactly what they do. They reinvent spaces to fit a brands identity and mesh their designs to create a unique customer experience. It seemed to work, because after one year, Garaki has already constructed more than 30 establishments including: Guess, Diesel, Sperry Topsider, Icee and so on. Not too shabby, eh?
Everyone could learn a thing or two from Andrea Pinto, which is why she’ll be speaking July, 7, 2016 about her unique approach to architecture.
