Announcing Jerica D. Wortham Tulsa On The Global Committee

Jerica D. Wortham is a Tulsan native, award-winning spoken word artist and bestselling author. She is the program director of the Greenwood Art Project. We are super excited to have Jerica on the Glappitnova global committee with a focus on Tulsa. Glappitnova brings different types of people with different perspectives together in unusual settings unlocking human potential.

Jerica has had the opportunity to gather artists from around the world and provide opportunities to local students through her entities J’Parlé LLC, J’Parlé Literary Magazine, and J’Parlé Scholarship fund. As a former Writer and Producer at BBC Radio to Executive Producer of web series bLERDS, Jerica recently began her work as the Program Director for the Greenwood Art Project.

The Greenwood Art Project is an initiative of the 1921 Tulsa Massacre Centennial Commission and a catalyst for uniting the city of Tulsa by working with artists, residents, leaders, organizations, and businesses to elevate awareness of Greenwood’s history, focusing on the 1921 Tulsa Massacre and the once-thriving Black Wall Street.

From countless awards like Black Wall Street Spoken Word Artist of The Year to Poetry Slam Championships, featured in the New York Times to Artnews, when she is not working, or teaching inmates with the Department of Corrections, she enjoys spending time with her husband Webster, and their two sons Solomon and Jonah. Jerica is also a participating artist of the Fire In Little Africa project.
