Announcing Dr. Tara Betts, Author and Educator for July 19th Showcase

Tara Betts is the author of Break the Habit and Arc & Hue. She is also one of the co-editors of The Beiging of America: Personal Narratives About Being Mixed Race in the 21st Century and editor of a critical edition of Philippa Duke Schuyler’s long out-of-print memoir Adventures in Black and White. Her work has appeared in Poetry, American Poetry Review, Nylon, and numerous anthologies. She was recently featured in New City’s LIT50 and was named one of Essence magazine’s “40 Favorite Poets” in 2010. has taught at Rutgers University, University of Illinois-Chicago, and as part of the MFA faculty at Chicago State University.
