Announcing The Director of Events & Sales at The Godfrey Hotel’s Sandi Robinson

Sandi Robinson serves as Director of Sales and Events at The Godfrey Hotel as well as overseeing day-to-day operations. She will be a panelist on our Chicago’s Nightlife and Entertainment panel during showcase #2 held on July 14th. There will be a mixture of talks, panels, discussions, and the night ends with a party. 

Robinson joined the hotel team prior to its opening in 2014 as the Senior Events manager and recently got promoted into her current role. With more than twenty years in the hospital industry, Robinson has mastered the craft of executing successful events and finds the most joy in her work when her clients are happy with their soirees and meetings. Before joining the Godfrey team, Sandi Robinson served as the executive events manager for the Dana Hotel and Spa.

Robinson prides herself on being and integral part of the Chicago community. She is a Board Member Emertus for the Lesbian Gay Bi-sexual & Transgender (LGBT) Chamber of Commerce, serves as a Choose Chicago Ambassador, and is a Co-Chair of the Greater North Michigan Avenue Association (GNMMA) Lights Festival Committee. She is also a member of the International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA) and Meeting Professionals International (MPI) in Chicago.

ANTONIO GARCIA

VP of Diversity & Inclusion for AIGA Chicago

Showcase #1 July 13th Panelist: Building Inclusive Communities 9:50 pm – 10:20 pm

Antonio García is AIGA Chicago’s new VP of Diversity & Inclusion. Over the last year and half he helped launch Northern Lab, Northern Trust’s internal innovation accelerator focused on experience design within financial services. Before that he led gravitytank’s interaction design discipline and social innovation practice. Prior to working in innovation, Antonio was strategic director of Firebelly Design. He holds a BFA in Advertising Design from the Atlanta College of Art (now SCAD) and attended the Harvard Business School AIGA Business Perspectives for Creative Leaders Executive Education Program in 2007. Antonio teaches Visual Storytelling and Communication Design at Northwestern University’s Segal Design Institute and previously taught Customer Discovery as part of University of Chicago’s Polsky Center Entrepreneurship Essentials. A frequent contributor to community conversations on the topics of diversity, culture and creativity, Antonio believes design’s sole function is to create change.
