Announcing Tiana Jorman, Founder of Breaking Through Breaking Beyond for July 17th Showcase
Tiana Jorman is the founder and CEO of Breaking Through Breaking Beyond, a non-profit organization founded in 2016 to help eliminate the pervasive nature of trauma, neglect, and abuse experienced by black and brown youth in urban environments.
Glappitnova brings passionate and talented people from different backgrounds and industries together sharing what matters most unlocking human potential. Tiana has purposefully placed herself in positions that both benefit others and advance her abilities in making social change. Tiana’s main focus is to enable people of color to empower themselves, especially youth of color from disadvantaged communities. Her experience began directly after undergrad with AmeriCorps where she oversaw literacy programs for youth and their parents in low-income communities. Personally experiencing the positive transformation that occurs when youth have the adequate support ignited his passion to continue youth development.
Tiana’s skills and motivations expanded and she has worked with at-risk and adjudicated youth for over seven years in various sectors. Currently serving as the SPF-PFS Project Lead for the Kenneth Young Center, overseeing a communication dissemination campaign targeting underage drinking in Schaumburg, Palatine and Hoffman Estates. Tiana is instrumental in overseeing the proper implementation of programs and services for youth through education, health and wellness, employment and mentoring.
Alongside her youth development work, Tiana Jorman is a freelance writer for JETMag.com. She began writing for the publication in July 2015. During her time at JETMag.com, she has written on a variety of subjects, including workplace and career, race, women’s empowerment and social issues.
