Don’t Chase a Dream, Live It

Ok, so the title may be a little harsh, but just hear me out…

So we all have this idea of the things we want in life, or at least to a certain extent. It may include a nice house, a luxury car, career that you love, limitless travel, the list can go on and on depending on what particularly moves you.  We often create this idea or picture in our minds of what that exactly is.

“Making it” is subjective because of course everyone’s idea is different.

For instance, some of mine would be being able to take care of my family where they don’t have to worry about anything, becoming a successful brand that help others go after their dreams, as well as experiencing other cultures through travel, and just being able to bless others in whatever way I can. Some of these remain constant, but most of them change as I get older and have a clearer understanding of things.

I realized this after a friend sent me an interesting read from FearlessStories.com written by a photographer by the name of Platon.  The title plain and simples read “How Stop Running After ‘Making It’ And Start Really Living It.”  The title alone peeked my interest.

I’m that person who’s about learning from other, the self-help articles/books sorts of person.  He gives a detailed account of what and how he became the photographer that he is today. The point of this is that, “making it” is just a figment of our imagination. It’s a dream that hasn’t become reality until you stop and literally live in the now. You have made it when you can live in the exact moment, be who are are.
