Marisabel Ruiz, is a Guatemalan entrepreneur determined to empower girls and women around the world. She envisions a community of game changers who have access to information through technology to improve the world. As CEO & Founder of Sheva, she provides the necessary tools for girls and women to learn how to access information using technology to contribute, navigate, and participate in an increasingly border-less and digital world.
Marisabel is an active member and supporter of global entrepreneurial movements. She is member of World Economic Forum Initiative: Global Shapers; Guatemalan Ambassador of WED Women’s Entrepreneurship Day; Ambassador of Visionarios; and Organizer of the first Startup Weekend. Prior to Sheva, she was a Marketing Director and Brand manager at Kimberly-Clark, and directed product development for Central America and the Caribbean. She was nominated 2015 Guatemalan young manager of the year by AGG.
In her TEDx Talk, Marisabel points out how Guatemala is in the center of the world. If you place a world map on a flat format you’ll notice how Guatemala lands just in the middle. Guatemala looks like a small country, but it has a lot to offer.
