Today is the first day of Glappitnova but why should I come? Can it really change my life. How did you even come up with a name Glappitnova?

The Name Glappitnova

When we created our name it had to be funky, interesting, spark curiosity, and rememberable. The base of Glappitnova is Glappit, which is the name of our actual company. At the time in “2011” the letter “G” was a great letter to start your company name with in Chicago (Groupon, GrubHub, Google, etc). Our goal was to make information accessible to people through quick bits of pieces. That’s when the sound of Pac Man hit us. It made a noise like “Glappit…Glappit.” There was still something missing. So we asked the universe in binary code of course, and we were hit with a supernova. We combined Glappit with the idea of an informational supernova explosion that produced Glappitnova.

Cool Story But That Didn’t Change Life

Ok, here are 10 attempts at getting you to come. You’ve gotten this far so you’re  interested.  Let’s not beat around the bush anymore. Ok, here we go.

  1. The Creative Station session held at DigitasLBi is sold out. This session of classes is all about content creation, and getting the best out of your creativity. Word on the street is Designation will be conducting fresh interactive strategies that tests your traditional approaches to solving a problem. Oh yeah, the director of SAG-AFTRA, and SAG actor Troy Pryor will be explaining how to get your content to the next level. This is perfect for the creative, film, and interactive communities located in Chicago.
  2. Catalyze Chicago has an extremely cool space powered by all type of gadgets of all sizes. This is the perfect setting for our “Startup Candy” session. The classes here are all about entrepreneurship, and how to work with startups. All slots are almost filled up, and should attract some interesting entrepreneurial driven folks from different backgrounds.
  3. The “Big Night” is going to be crazy within the ample Moonlight Studios, and it will change your life. Some of Chicago’s best, and brightness will unite for one night only through storytelling, musical performances, networking, and a massive party of course. With Crain’s Chicago Business, The RedEye, Miller Coors, Vosges Haut – Chocolate, Jerk 312, The Fat Shallot, MAFA Chicago, Sin Label, Chicago HOPE, The Simple Good, The Numbered Days,  Network and Social… ok you get where we are going with this one.
  4. Nick the Co-Organizer of Glappitnova is known for having some funky dance moves, and really swanky private parties. We are sure he put on a show especially if Michael Jackson music is playing, then start talking about entrepreneurship as if the moves did not just occur. Also congrats on becoming one of the Chicago Ambassadors for HQ formerly known as Sandbox. The Chicago launch party with Grammy Award winning song writer Malik Yusef can be found here.
  5. Our influencer meet up at the Berkshire room is catered for potential participants of the next Glappitnova. This is what happened last time. This exclusive meet up is limited to a max of 50 people. It’s meant to really get to know each other in an extremely small scale environment.
  6. Hashtag #glappitnova and see for yourself. We’re on Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, and Instagram for the social butterflies out there.
  7. In the past it’s been more of an underground community to establish the concept. We’re going big this time, and it’s scary. This will set the tone for  great things in the near future.
  8. Various art work will be on display  at “The Big Night” July 16th with a great mix of business causal and fashion forward individuals looking to party, learn, and connect. Not just hi, here is my business card…bye. Or even those three epic words… call me maybe?
  9. Did you see our awesome trailer video?
  10. All the attendees from any session will be included on our Official After Party list held at the Underground Chicago.
