Our First Teaching Session Was A Success

Thanks to DigitasLBi Chicago for being great hosts. SAG-AFTRA Chicago and Designation set the stage for future classes of Glappitnova. The night was a mixture of creativity, knowing your worth, and testing your boundaries through interaction.

Designation

Their class was full of interaction, and forced attendes to collaborate with each other by creating food app ideas. Attendees came up with Dindr, the food relationship app similar to Tinder, an app that takes food photos that automatically shares the ingredients which are then delivered to your door, to even incorporating food images that convert to emojis. The goal was to get people to create something first, then take notes on the presentation with various scientific strategies, and apply them to create an even better food app. There are plenty of ways to understand the science of creativity.

SAG-AFTRA

“You have to be a great talent scout and surround yourself with strong like minded people that can help you rise.” – SAG actor Troy Pryor

Attendees were able to hear the “realness” of being a SAG actor, and some of the SAG-AFTRA industry standards. Kathy Byrne, Director of TV/Theatrical SAG-AFTRA introduced to the audience to the SAG-AFTRA lifestyle, while SAG actor Troy Pryor related acting to branding yourself in the business realm. Their session added some humor while delivering information to the audience effectively.
